For beginners

You don't need to be a mechanic. You need to know the numbers before you buy.

Most people lose money because they buy with their heart: they see a pretty car and bid. The business lives in the gap between what it's worth wrecked and what it's worth clean. Codonca gives you that gap in seconds, over WhatsApp.

Real case · 2022 Honda Civic Sport

It all started with a number, not the car

On December 10 a gray 2022 Civic Sport showed up at Copart Dayton (Moraine, Ohio): 65k miles, left front hit, airbags deployed, with keys and starting. Nice car, a color that sells itself. But a pretty car isn't a business — a pretty car with the right numbers is.

Before bidding a cent, we ran the VIN in Codonca. The CSMR showed a median of $6,400. The CMR (clean-title wholesale value) showed $14,600, and estimated retail $17,975. That gap of over $8,000 between salvage and clean is where the profit lives.

With the ceiling clear, we bid cold. It landed at $5,600 — $800 below the median. Right there we knew the deal was done; the rest was execution.

House rule: profit is locked in the day you buy, not the day you sell. Buying well is 80% of the business.
